Woman arrested for selling candies made of weed

This is the second arrest made, after a drinking bar operator was arrested for selling alcohol laced with the illegal substances, last week.

The  Koforidua police unit have arrested a nursing mother for selling candies laced with weed.

According to Starr FM, the suspect is part of a drug peddling syndicate that is processing weed into different products such as cakes and toffees for unsuspecting customers.

According to Starr News’ reporter  Kojo Ansah, many drug peddlers in the region are resorting to such measures to ply their trade in order to evade arrest by the police.

“This is a new way by the peddlers to swerve the police from arresting them. So they are now producing and processing different kind of foods made of marijuana.

“Currently, different kinds of products such as cakes and toffees are on the market and are being sold to students, especially in Nkawkaw and other areas. As a result the police has scaled up their surveillance in the region,” Ansah noted.
