He is now back with his family in London and was seen enjoying breakfast with his twin daughters, Ava and Mia in an Instagram post.
His partner, Olga Diyachenko shared a photo of the Chelsea midfielder and their daughters at the dining “Breakfast club #breakfast #family #peanutgang table,” she captioned it.
Mikel will now focus on his club career after Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr claimed that he is being punished by Chelsea for participating in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Mikel, 29, missed most of Chelsea pre-season as he helped his country win a bronze medal at the football event of the Summer Olympic Games.
Since his return, the midfielder has not featured for Chelsea so far this season which prompted Rohr to make the comment.
Mikel Obi, however, denied Rohr’s claim and said he is working towards winning more trophies for Chelsea.
