Ghanaian supports brother Jerome amidst politician's controversial remarks

Kevin-Prince Boateng supports brother Jerome Boateng after controversial remarks from Alternative fur Deutschland (AfD) politician Alexander Gauland.

The deputy leader of the anti-immigration party over the weekend said “people like Boateng as a footballer, but wouldn’t want to live next to someone like him” in reference to his Ghanaian roots [Ghanaian father].

Kevin-Prince Boateng posted in a sarcastic reference to comments by the politician concerning his brother Jerome Boateng saying:

“If you wanna win trophies u need neighbors like my brother @JB17Official”

Bayern Munich, Jerome Boateng’s club have also declared their support for the player with Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hitting out at Gauland on the club’s official website:

27-year-old Jerome Boateng was born in Berlin to a Ghanaian father. The player represents Germany at international level and has won 57 caps for the country.

Jerome’s brother Kevin-Prince Boateng however chose to represent the Black Stars of Ghana.
