Chairman of the Textile, Garment and Leather Employees Union, Abraham Koomson has cautioned government on the effect of imported sugar on the fortunes of the revamped Komenda Sugar Factory.
“The trend where imported products are cheaper than those produced in Ghana must be reversed, especially in the case of Komenda if the factory will survive” , he said.Curb sugar imports for Komenda to survive- Labour Union

The Komenda Sugar Factory, inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama earlier this month, has started producing sugar for commercial purposes.
Mr. Koomson, however drew attention to the need for government to regulate the importation of sugar in order to give the Komenda Factory room to operate.
