Eleven suspects who were charged in connection with the violent clashes between students of the Kpando Senior High School and the Kpando Technical Institute have been granted bail by a Kpando Circuit Court to the sum of Ghc30, 000 each.
They were on Friday arraigned before the court, and charged with rioting with weapons according to session 199 of act 29/60 of the criminal code, Accra-based Citi FM reported.
The suspects are to reappear in Court on May 27, 2016.
Some male students of Kpando Technical Institute (KPANTECH) last two weeks Saturday attacked students of Kpando Senior High School (KPANSEC) after they were allegedly denied participation in a jam organized in town by students of the Kpando Senior High School.
The KPANTECH students were reported to have vandalised the dormitories, school walls and sign boards of Kpando Senior High School (KPANSEC).
The Kpando Senior High School is situated directly opposite the Kpando Technical Institute in the Volta region.
There has been some rivalry between the two schools over the years.
