Albert Adomah's team gain promotion to the English Premier League

Ghanaian player Albert Adomah and his Middlesbrough team have been promoted to the English Premier League after missing out in the play-offs last season

The battle that was slightly lost by Middlesbrough last season, has been won this season without the play-off route.

Middlesbrough came close to qualification last season but were handed a defeat at the Wembley Stadium in the Championship play-off final game against Norwich City.

Aitor Karanka and his team made sure that fate was not repeated this season, clinching second position on the league table to qualify directly into the English Premier League without the play-offs.

Albert Adomah and his Middlesbrough team went into their final game of the Championship season against Brighton & Hove Albion needing a win or a draw to get promotion to the English Premier League.

The Ghanaian and his side also had the probability of winning the English Championship but the 3-0 win for Burnley away at Charlton Athletic made it impossible.

Adomah’s Middlesbrough took a first half lead via Cristian Stuani with Dale Stephens equalising for away team Brighton & Hove Albion.

Dale Stephens was however sent off four minutes after his goal for Brighton as his team failed to score another goal that could secure them straight qualification to the Premier League.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday will feature in the play-off games for the final spot of the English Premier League qualification.

Burnley and Albert Adomah’s Middlesbrough have already been promoted into the English Premier League.
