According to management of the National Service Scheme, the extension is to enable eligible applicants who were blocked out during the first registration, to register for the 2016/2017 national service.
A statement signed by the Acting Executive Director of the Scheme, Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte said all such national service defaulters have up to Wednesday, 20th April 2016 to personally submit their application letters, academic certificates or transcripts from accredited tertiary institutions attended, and evidence of application for deferment of national service from previous years, to the head office of the scheme in Accra.
All eligible applicants are therefore being urged to take note of the new deadline and comply since there would not be any further extensions, the statement added.
