Rev. Frimpong Manso is still a minister of the church - PCG

This is in spite of a resignation letter from the presby moderator over what he describes as gross disrespect to his person and ministry.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, PCG has said it will still regard former Moderator, Rev. Frimpong Manso as a minister of the church.

Speaking on Accra-based Adom Fm, a lawyer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. George Obeng Adjei said, “As we speak now, Rev. Frimpong Manso is still a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.”

The immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso has announced his decision to quit the church.

This follows a resolution by the leadership of the Presby Church Ghana (PCG) to severe their relationship with pro-homosexual Presbyterian Church, United States of America.

According to Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso, his resignation is due to what he describes as gross disrespect to his person and ministry.

The Moderator of the Presby Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey had earlier on written to his predecessor, Rev. Frimpong, who has been sent to Virginia on assignment asking him to return to Ghana latest by December 31, 2015.

This follows approval by the Presbyterian Church, USA to ordain gay pastors, elders and deacons.

Prof Martey added that the Presbyterian Church Ghana will not accept the act because it is a total “deviation from Bible principles.”

But Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso in an interview with Adom News said the General Assembly did not accord him the needed respect before taking the decision to recall him from the USA.

He has therefore decided to stay with the Presby church in the USA.
