Suspended second vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Sammy Crabbe has indicated that he is still at post as the second vice chair.
“The Disciplinary Committee met and I recognise them but I do not recognise the body that met yesterday and their jurisdiction over this matter and I have pointed it out in Article 4(3D) and Article 10," he told Accra-based Joy FM.
“NEC is not just people meeting. It has to be legally and properly constituted.
“The way to constitute NEC is laid out in our constitution. You can start a process, eat into it, create an illegality and push it down the throat of people… It can’t happen.
"… Nana Addo being there doesn’t make it a NEC meeting. If there’s a cabinet meeting at the flagstaff house and you have all the cabinet ministers available and it is not convened by President Mahama, it is not a cabinet meeting.”
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party on Thursday affirmed the decision of the party's Disciplinary Committee to suspend its Second National Vice-Chairman, Mr Sammy Crabbe.
His suspension follows a petition by some aggrieved party members who accused him of undermining the party’s authority by publicly rebelling against its decision to indefinitely suspend Mr Paul Afoko.
But, Mr. Crabbe said “if anybody tries to stop me from performing my duties either through machoism or any other means I’d take that person on. I’d report to the appropriate authorities and even seek a restraining order.”
