The Director of Passport has been re-assigned days after a youth group belonging to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed the passport office to take control of the place.
He is to hand over to Mr Emmanuel Enos following the Ministry’s decision to re-assign him.
“My term ends today Friday and from next week, I will come there but not as the director but just to guide the new director on the handing over,” Mr Alexander told Accra-based Onua FM.
Activities at the passport office came to a temporary halt after a group of young men belonging to the NPP storm the place on Monday.
The men, who entered the premises in an NPP branded vehicle, said they belonged to the security force of the NPP.
They demanded to know how the place is run and other official information.
