Kennedy Agyapong defends Wontumi; says MP deserves more beatings

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central,

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is reported to have attacked Hon Amankwah and his constituency secretary, Felix Ibrahim, on Sunday at the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Tuesday, Mr Agyapong said the MP should have been physically assaulted the more for secretly working against the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

“He’s done well beating him. Let them go to hell. He should have beaten him more than he did. They are always playing the fool. I will support Wontumi today, tomorrow, any time,” he fumed.

When the host of the show, KABA sought to draw his attention that the victim is a sitting MP, Mr Agyapong replied, “If you are a sitting MP and you fool around, we will beat you because we are wild. I said he deserved the beatings.”

“Me, opposition… I’m living good! I don’t care. We are sick and tired of these people. Why?” he fumed again.

Meanwhile, Chairman Wontumi, will on Wednesday be arraigned before court for allegedly attacking the NPP MP.

"So far the Police say he has been charged with assault of a public officer and that they are going to take him to court tomorrow [Wednesday]," Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sam Pyne told Citi FM.
