Manchester United in race to sign Ethan Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu made history on Tuesday as the youngest player to play for Exeter in the League Cup

Manchester United are chasing for the signature of the 15-year-old Exeter City whiz kid.

Ethan Ampadu, whose father Kwame Ampadu played in the same Arsenal youth team as Old Trafford legend Andy Cole is one of the rising prospects in English football, having featured for both England and Wales at under-16s level.

According to Daily Mail reports Manchester United have been monitoring the progress of Ampadu and are hoping to beat off competition from fellow English Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, who have also shown interest in the youngster.

On Tuesday, the whiz kid Ethan Ampadu made history by becoming the youngest player to play for Exeter City in an English League Cup victory over Brentford.

His father Kwame made two appearances for the Arsenal first-team between 1988 and 1991 after coming through the ranks at Highbury with Cole and Kevin Campbell.

He later played for West Brom, Swansea City, Orient and Exeter, and then became a coach for the west country club, paving the way for his son to start there.
