An Accra Human Rights court hearing the case in which a private freight forwarder Micheal Kwaku Gyan is seeking an interlocutory injunction to be placed on a contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority and West blue witnessed some heated exchanges between lawyers for both sides.
Lawyer Ayeni said Mr. Afenyo Markin is not his co-equal at the bar
The exchanges began when deputy attorney General Dominic Ayeni who represented government and the GRA told counsel for the opposing side Alex Afenyo Markin to "shut up" when he was on his feet objecting to an issue in open court.
The harsh comment by the AG did not go down well with Afenyo Markin, Member of Parliament for Effutu, who sharply responded, reminding Mr. Ayeni that he would not remain in opposition forever.
The deputy AG after the court proceedings , angrily reacted to one of the lawyers for the plaintiff (the freight forwarder) who had gone to broker peace between the gentlemen. Lawyer Ayeni told his opponent that Mr. Afenyo Markin is not his co-equal at the bar and must be minded by that fact. The court subsequently set a the 31st January to rule on the case.

Lawyer Afenyo Markin is representing his client who is seeking to annul a contract between West Blue Ghana Limited and government on the National Single Window project.
Meanwhile over 500 workers from five Destination Inspection Companies have been asked to go home as a result of the West Blue take over.
