The Black Stars skipper says Andre Ayew has been lookingAsamoah up to him since his first day in the Black Stars.
Asamoah Gyan scored before he was substituted in the second half by coach James Kwesi Appiah when Ghana defeated Ethiopia 5-0 on Sunday.
However, Andre Ayew his deputy was handed a new arms band instead of his. An incident the coach explained that the arms band Gyan used was a customized one and that called for a new one for the West Ham United attacker.
Several Ghanaians have been critical on Gyan and that has made many people to believe there is a bad blood between the skipper and his deputy over captaincy issue as perceived.
But Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that Gyan considers him as his idol and there is a perfect relationship between them.
“It is worrying to hear people say I have an issue with Andre Ayew. I was in the Black Stars before he came and I have been his idol since day one. His father even likes me so well,” he said after the game.
