Fisherman missing after canoe capsizes

A group of fishermen had returned from a fishing expedition on Sunday afternoon and were approaching the shore when suddenly water collected into their canoe due to high tide and the boisterous nature of the sea, causing the canoe to capsize.
 
 

Fisherfolks in Dixcove in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region are frantically making effort to either rescue or retrieve the body of one of their own, who has gone missing after a canoe capsized in the afternoon of Sunday, July, 10, 2016.

In the process, some of the fishermen fell into the sea and started swimming for survival but one of them whose name has been given as Philip, 25, has since not been seen.

Many of the fishermen in the community have since joined in the search for the missing colleague but there has been no trace of him.

The search is currently going on in the area.
