For Girls: Amerado admits to using midnight cemetery rituals to pursue his crush

Amerado, the 2023 VGMA Best Rapper of the Year, recently revealed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he once used a love spell to win over a past lover.

He recounted that during his time in Kumasi, he conducted a ritual in a cemetery at 2 a.m., involving the sprinkling of powder and voicing his desires alone in the dark.

"It was 2 in the morning; I went to the cemetery, sprinkled some powder, and stated my wishes. That was it. I was alone, and I'm serious; I'm not making this up," Amerado explained.

When questioned about his fears of performing such a ritual at a late hour, the rapper expressed that his actions were driven by love and saw no reason to hold back.

"Yes, because I was in love. Andy, 2 a.m. is nothing; haven't you ever been in love? If I had to walk to Accra, I would have," he declared.

Amerado confirmed that the spell worked as intended, though he and the woman are no longer together.

Recently, following his successful tracks 'Kwaku Ananse' and 'Abronoma,' Amerado released another song titled 'Tintinto,' which has also started to receive significant airplay shortly after its release.

The Ghanaian rapper is also expecting to walk home with awards at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards. This comes after the organizers of the award scheme announced that Amerado's "Kwaku Ananse" has been reinstated as one of the contenders for the coveted title of Most Popular Song of the Year.

This revelation comes after a thorough review by the TGMA board following a one-week window for Errors & Omissions in the nominations process.

The press release, issued on Monday, April 15th, 2024, addressed the corrections made during the evaluation period. Notably, the board acknowledged an oversight regarding the categorization of Amerado's hit track, "Kwaku Ananse." Initially nominated for Best Highlife Song under its remix version, the board recognized the original rendition's popularity and significance.

Consequently, "Kwaku Ananse" has been nominated for both Best Highlife Song and Most Popular Song of the Year categories.
