Karma will deal with him - Blogger Kobby Kyei condemns Shatta Wale’s photographer

Award-winning Ghanaian freelance journalist Kobby Kyei has explained the vile behaviour Shatta Wale’s official photographer Kwabena Awuku aka Awuku Photos showed him at Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Made in Taadi’ concert over the weekend.

Kobby Kyei received a 'heavy' slap when he met Awuku Photos backstage during Shatta Wale and Kofi Kinaata’s performance.

According to Kobby, he only said ‘hi’ when he met Awuku but received a heavy slap in return, which damaged his eyeglasses and left bruises on his face.

He told Pulse.com.gh on Monday, December 23, that he had no animosity with the photographer prior to the unfortunate incident.

He said the slap left severe pain in his left eye and chin and is yet to see the doctor for treatment. Kobby also revealed that he couldn’t file a police report in Takoradi because his flight took off early morning.

“Karma will deal with him,” he told Pulse.com.gh, “what he did was very bad. I didn’t retaliate because cameras were around us.”

Shortly after the incident, Shatta Wale took to Snapchat to make a mockery of him.

When asked if Shatta Wale had hands in the incident, he told Pulse.com.gh that it is possible due to his beef with Sarkodie. He said even when Awuku Photos was working with Sarkodie, he had no relations with him so it’s likely Shatta Wale influenced him to assault him.

Kobby Kyei said he will take up the matter after picking a hospital report today.

The Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana, which Kobby Kyei is a member, is yet to release a statement on the incident.
