Fake UN Kofi Annan award saga;Wendy Shay reminds Ghanaians to wake up

Wendy Shay for the umpteenth time has sounded her alarm for Ghanaians to wake up.

The Ghanaian singer decided to take a bite on the trending saga of some top Ghanaian celebrities like Sarkodie, Berla Mundi, D Black and others who fell for a UN/Kofi Annan scam. "When I tell Ghana to wake up U ppl think I’m joking," she said.

Via a tweet, she continued that "So nobody could research about the background of dis (UN award ) Ghanafour p3 Award Award ne ha t)L) Ghana wake up !!". So far, Sarkodie, Berla Mundi, D Black, who received the award have deleted the posts they shared about it.

However, Dr Fordjour, who is the brain behind the award scheme which also saw, Prof Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, VC of the University of Ghana, being awarded too, has been defending this scheme.

In an interview with Joy FM, he said " am surprised because this is an open thing that we just held. If anybody has a problem with me or our institution, they should have contacted us for clarification. I have always been an advocate for development, excellence and in honouring others and attaching ourselves to global icons and leadership we bring them out".
