'The Devil Wears Prada' is being made into a stage musical by Kevin McCollum, the producer behind the 'Rent' stage show. '

The popular David Frankel-directed film - which starred AnneHathaway as an aspiring journalist working as the assistant to a high-fashion magazine editor, played by Meryl Streep - will be adapted into a musical by KevinMcCollum, the producer behind the 'Rent' stage show.The Tony Award-winning producer - whose Broadway credits also include 'Something Rotten!' and 'Hand to God'' - entered into a deal with Twentieth Century Fox in 2013 to turn their blockbuster films into musicals.Kevin has been particularly eager to transform the well-loved movie - which also starred Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci - into a similarly successful musical, Time magazine reports.The cast of the musical has still to be confirmed, but members of the original cast have previously suggested they'd be happy to return for a movie sequel and have also been linked to the much-discussed stage production.Asked about reprising her on-screen character Andy for a movie sequel, Anne - who recently appeared in a one-woman stage show in New York - previously said: "I'd love to do that but I don't know if there is any plan for it."
