Filmmaker wins 'Icon in African Entertainment Industry' award in Houston

Currently popular for his latest movie "The CEO," Kunle Afolayan received the award at the 2016 Afro-Heritage Broadcasting and Entertainment Awards (AHBEA).

"The CEO" filmmaker received the award at Afro-Heritage Broadcasting and Entertainment Awards (AHBEA), an annual event created to celebrate African artistes that has made serious impact in entertainment industry.

The 2016 edition of event was hosted by Seyi Law, was also attended by Odunlade Adekola, Sunny Ade, among others.

Kunle Afolayan's latest movie, "The CEO," features Wale Ojo, Lala Akindoju, Angelique Kidjo, Aurelie EliamHilda Dokubo, Jimmy Jean Louis, Peter King, Nico Panagio among others.

According to Afolayan, he borrowed 50 million naira from Bank of Industry to produce the movie which undefined.

"The CEO" premiered in Nigeria on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
