After making music, and organizing tours, singer Asa feels a certain need to recover from all of the fast life.
The songstress kicks off her European tour for the album, âBed of Stonesâ, Â today, February 18, 2014, and will be visiting major cities in Germany, France and other countries.
Asa has revealed how she feels at the end of her tours in an interview with My Africa Podcast. She talks about her techniques of recovery.
âThereâs a lot of reading. First thereâs a block, what the hell do I doâŠwhat do I write, my brain is fried, thereâs nothingâ. Asa said.
âYouâve given everything, like everything on stage, and you see sometimes Iâm unable to watch the recording, because Iâm like âwhy did you do thatâ, why in Godâs name did you sing like that. You could have been much more prettier, while singing.
âBut this is the moment, you have to catch it, and nobody cares if you have a cold at the concert. Nobody cares if you have just had your heart broken. You have to go and give 200%.â
Asa further revealed her dislike for music, after her tours. She stays away from any music-related activities, preferring to live a simple life, and connect to normalcy.
âAfter the show and the tour, I donât even want to listen to music, nothing. I donât want to do anything near musical. I just need toâŠitâs like recovering.â
âBooks, friends and travel. I donât want to travel by airplanes any more, I want to go on a road trip. I want to go back to the beginning, and the simplicity, walk with my feet, and touch the things, you know, be real. Just live normal.
âFor 200 days weâve been perceived as gods, and divas, you know, people come to you, they cry..âwhat just happenedâ. People wanna touch you, wanna kiss you, and when all that is done, and you are alone, and you donât have this people no more, and the realityâŠthereâs a crash, thereâs a block, and you just need to go back to recovery.â
