Orezi under fire for burning 1,000 naira note

Nigerian social media space is up in arms against musician Orezi for his new single, Born Broke Die Rich cover photo.

According to critics, the photo which depicts the musician burning a 1,000 naira note with a lighter is insulting and condescending.

The ‘Shoki’ hitmaker released his new single photo titled ‘Born Broke Die Rich’ on his Instagram page which turned out to be a massive hit. As to whether he expected such reaction from Nigerians would be insignificant compared to the publicity it has generated.

The photo featured the musician bared chested with his tattoos on full display. Tiny corn rolls also adorned his hair whilst dangling antique earrings completed his look. In his left hand, he holds a burning 1000 naira note and a lighted lighter in his right.
