60-yr-old retired Police officer charged for raping two minors

A retired senior police officer has been docked for allegedly raping two minors.

Rape should be frowned

A shameless 60-year-old retired Assistant Superintendent of Police identified as ASP Yusuf Ibrahim, has been dragged to the Bauchi State High Court sitting in Bauchi, the state capital, over allegations of raping two little girls, aged five and six respectively.

According to reports, Ibrahim who resides at Bakin Kura area in the metropolis where he runs a provision shop in front of his house, had allegedly lured the little girls into the shop with chewing gums and sweets but unknown to him, some people had become suspicious of his movements and after giving him a little time, they burst into the shop and caught the former law officer in the very act of defiling the girls.

The police prosecution in the case, Mohammad Adamu, told the court that the accused was caught in the very act by other residents and was rescued by a passing police team which prevented him being lynched.

According to Adamu, the offence violated Section 28‎2 (1e) and was punishable under section 283 of Bauchi penal code.

Justice Muazu Abubakar, the president of the court, adjourned the case till September 16 while ordering that Ibrahim be remanded in prison custody.
