Lady sells stolen baby to Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor

Police in Nigeria’s Edo State have arrested one Juliet Phillips, the owner of an illegal orphanage, Godswill Ophanage, at Ekpan, Warri for allegedly stealing and selling a 2-year-old boy to a pastor in the state.

Gistreel.com reports that Juliet was arrested alongside her mother and one Collins Ogbor who is a retired director in the Community Development Department of the Ministry of Women Affairs in Delta State.

According to the news website, Juliet who happens to be the prime suspect allegedly stole the child identified as Testimony, from his mentally unstable mother, on November 28, 2018, and took him to Deliverance Orphanage operated by her mother in Ozoro.

She then proceeded to sell the boy off to a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Edo State for N900,000, and he also renamed him Favour, ostensibly to conceal his identity completely.

It is however not clear yet if the said man of God has committed any offence in relation to this particular case, and whether he is also a suspect.

Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka who confirmed the report revealed how Juliet also allegedly stole three children from Ekpan Primary School in 2017.

The suspects are being processed for court to answer for their alleged crime.
