Man rapes his facebook lover on their first date

What would you do on your first date, maybe book a romantic dinner, go for a long drive, go watch a movie or spend the whole time talking a taking long romantic walk. Some people surely feels otherwise like 26 year old Nigerian man Taiwo Oluwatobi who allegedly lured his Facebook love and forced himself on to her without her consent.

The incident happened on November 30 2015. Taiwo had lured his lover, the 24 years old victim who was identified as Temitope into his house in the Alagomeji, Yaba area of the State to collect N15, 000 and during that time he defiled her. The incident happened at the suspect’s friend’s rented apartment on Queens Street, Alagomeji. It was the victim’s first meeting with the suspect.

The couple met on the popular social networking site Facebook and the victim told him that she needed N15, 000 to settle a debt. The suspect then invited the victim to Alagomeji to meet him and to also collect the money.

Temitope was said to have arrived at the apartment around 6pm and left at around 8pm. During this time Taiwo allegedly raped her. Later on the victim reported the matter to the Anti Robbery Squad of the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.

According to police sources, the suspect had graduated from a University in Oyo State and he was also a suspected member of the Buccaneer’s Confraternity. It was also learnt that the friend of the suspect, Adenuga Adedayo was present in the apartment and may have a role to play during the unfortunate incident.

The trial for the incident had started and soon we would learn what about the suspect’s punishments. This incident once again had revealed the dark side of the social networking with the unknown.
