Neighbours of a Zimbabwean man locked up his adulterous wife and illicit lover she had received into her matrimonial home while her husband who was on a night duty had gone to work.

According to reports, Godfrey Makeche Ncube of Chinotimba suburb works in a night shift at a shop in Chinotimba suburb.

On that fateful night, neighbours including Godfrey Makeche Ncube’s own brothers spotted Cynthia Ngwenya and her lover, Tafireyi Zimba apparently attempting to spend the night together.

The angry neighbours teamed up against the two illicit lovers, locked them in the room with a padlock, and guarded the building vigilantly until the next day when they dragged them to the police station amidst booing and shaming.

Surprisingly, when Godfrey Makeche Ncube returned home, he refused to talk about his wife’s conduct.

He told Newsmen that: “To me this is now in the past and talking about it will just rekindle the pain. I can’t talk about it and you cannot write as well because you were not there. We went to the police and they told me not to go around talking about the issue.”

Meanwhile, Police Commander for the Victoria Falls District, Chief Superintendent Tadeus Madondo reportedly confirmed the incident, but indicated that no criminal report was filed against the illicit lovers.
