Depression is a disorder that is evidenced by excessive sadness, loss of interest in enjoyable things, and low motivation.

It is normal to experience feelings of sadness and dispair in response to adverse life events. Such events could include loss, major life changes, stress, or disappointment. 

  • Unload some of your work schedules

Between achieving your targets at work, picking kids at school and house chores, your life is boring.

It’s time to unload some of your daily activities and have fun with your family and have a hobby.

  • Laugh more

Watch comedy movies during the weekend and attend shows with family and friends. Laughter is the best medicine and it’s free.

Include some fun activities in your daily schedule and see how your life with the turn around for your mental and physical health.

  • Avoid alcohol

Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. If you have an active social life, just be discipline and reduce the alcohol intake.  You can alternate between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks when you attend social gatherings.

You are what you eat. So, if you’re feeling depressed then it’s time to switch the food on your plate. Eat food that contains more vitamins and nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids. Fatty cold-water fish, such as salmon, anchovies, herring, is one of the best sources of omega-3s that help fight depression.

  • Stay focused

Focus on the good things in your life, especially when you feel buried under stress and worry.
