Meet Mansa Ayisi-Okyere

TEDxAccra 2015 will take place on April 11 at the National Theatre from 7am to 7pm. It is expected to be the biggest TEDx event in Ghana to date. The theme for this year is “The Next Chapter”.

Mansa Ayisi-Okyere is the Executive Secretary for African Entrepreneurs Hub. A non-profit organisation she’s helped build from conception, with a focus on encouraging youth entrepreneurship.

At the age of 21, Mansa founded her first company and subsequently, has gone on to build a reputation as skillful professional with exceptional abilities in business development and fundraising.

‘I am a firm believer in the power of entrepreneurship. I see it as the vehicle to drive development in Africa. If we teach our youth to value entrepreneurship and integrity I believe a lot of our societal gripes will be resolved.’

Mansa is married with 3 children.

Why should you listen to her talk?

Did you know that 75% of Ghana’s population fall within the youth bracket? And that of these 60% are unemployed? The consequences of youth unemployment cannot be underestimated. The Arab spring is a good indication of what happens when unemployment goes unchecked in a largely youth dominated populace. Youth unemployment is a time bomb waiting to explode and we must do something. I believe in the power of entrepreneurship as a solution to youth unemployment. If better supported, this is a way to address our developmental hiccups.

Quote from Mansa:

The decisions we make now must count as solid blocks for the future. Make a difference every day!
