Meet The Cast Of 'Selena: The Series' On Netflix And Their Real-Life Counterparts

Christian Serratos Christian stars as Selena in the Netflix series. She's best known for playing longtime character Rosita Espinosa in The Walking Dead. Christian was also Raven on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, but her turn as Selena is set to eclipse both. "There are glimpses of Christian where I'm like, 'Yo, are we singing with Selena right now?'" co-star Julio Macias told People en Espaol about her portrayal of the iconic singer. "It's surreal." Chris Perez Chris was a guitarist for the band Selena y Los Dinos, and also won a Grammy for his work in the Chris Perez Band. He and Selena met in 1990 when he joined the band and kept their romantic relationship under wraps, per CNN. They eloped in 1992. He later wrote a book about their relationship and his late wife, To Selena, With Love. Carlos Alfredo, Jr. Carlos Alfredo Jr. plays musician Joe Ojeda. The actor and guitarist was born in Oakland, California. His father is from Ecuador and his mother is from Mexico. He worked in his family's restaurant growing up and also learned to play the guitar. In his Selena tribute post on Instagram , he wrote: "I was introduced to Selena's music through a juke box that we had in my family's Mexican restaurant where I grew up. I remember being so inspired by her, not only as a Latino but as a young musician! She taught me the importance of having dreams and never letting anyone take them away.
