Manchester City stars out of Sierra Leone clash

Manchester City players Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony will not be involved in Cote D'ivoire's clash against Sierra Leone

Manchester City stars Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony are set to miss Cote D'ivoire's 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

Yaya Toure was left out of coach Michel Dussuyer's list as he continues to ponder his international future while Bony pulled out after suffering a nasty gash to his leg.

Bony put a picture on Instagram of himself in a large protective boot before City's 2-o win over Watford last weekend.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed he would sit out that game and would be back after the international break.

"Unfortunately Bony had yesterday a cut in his leg of six to seven centimetres so he's not able to play tomorrow," Pellegrini said.

The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) are yet to name a replacement for the burly striker.

The Ivory Coast team will be traveling to Nigeria where they will be playing Sierra Leone who will be hosting the Group 1 clash away from their country due to the Ebola outbreak.
