Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, who won the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary for the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern Region – has stated that he will work to increase the number of NPP votes in the constituency.

Speaking to Accra-based Joy FM after provisional results indicated that he had won, Mr. Oppong-Nkrumah said he would work with the contestants he defeated to double NPP votes in Ofoase Oyirebi and galvanise votes for Nana Akufo-Addo to beat President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.
He said “I am happy, I am sad…it’s a mixture of feelings..,” he said.
He attributed his victory to hard work and a focus on his five point agenda for developing the constituency.
Kojo polled an overwhelming 218 votes to beat his closest contender John Obiri Yeboah who polled 114. The aspiring candidate Bright Asamoah Acquah polled a paltry 58.
