Thomas Agyapong sustained an injury while playing for his club NAC Breda and after he undergone a scan, he has been ruled out for three months.

James Kwesi Appiah invited the former Black Starlets skipper to the Black Stars for their FIFA World Cup qualifier next month, anticipating the player was going to be declared fit to join the national team during the international break, yet the scan has proven otherwise.

Thomas Agyapong who made his debut against Ethiopia this year in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier seems to have earned a permanent place in Kwesi Appiah’s team and his absence is going to be felt.

He is the third Black Stars player to ruled out of the Uganda clash due to injury- John Boye and Afriyie Acquah were not even named in the 26-man squad over injury worries.

Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah is expected to name Agyapong's replacement before Ghana go for camping ahead of their clash against Uganda on 6th October in Kampala.
