Telecoms giant partners with Oracle to kick second phase of tech skills programme in Nigeria

Six months after collaborating with software giant Oracle on a project aimed at growing technology skills in Nigeria, the MTN Foundation has kicked off the second phase of the project to empower as much as 2,000 MTN Foundation scholars.

The scholars will be undergoing training in Java Fundamental and Oracle Database disciplines.

According to a Techloy report, the company says this phase focuses on teaching the scholars using the Oracle Academy curriculum and hosted online learning materials as well.

The online-based training programme, part of the Foundation’s initiative to encourage Nigerian students to take interest in course relating to science and technology, will run for 18 weeks with participants expected to log on to the online classrooms and receive 2 lectures per week.
