Recharge card prices to go up by 10%
Prices of phones and mobile money transactions are set to go up as the Mobile Money Merchants Association are getting ready to increase price of recharge cards by 10% starting today, Wednesday, February 3.
The Association blames the imminent increment on the reduction in the commission of vendors on each card sold.
Meanwhile, MTN has threatened to sanction any recharge card vendor who increases the price of recharge card.
Speaking to Pulse business news,General Manager of Regional Sales of MTN, Abubakari Mohammed asked customers to resist any hikes in prices of recharge or mobile money charges by vendors.
