A retired army chief, Captain Budu Koomson is predicting that it will take years for Ghana to recover from the latest corruption scandal which has hit the Judiciary.

According to the retired army chief however, despite the on-going inquiry into the issue, the country has been “seriously scratched” with Anas’ latest exposé
According to him, even if the implicated Judges and Magistrates are jailed or stripped off their positions, the image of the country has been dented.
Some Judges and Magistrates have been indicted for perpetrating various acts of corruption in their line of duty.
This came to light after investigative journalist; went under cover with his team to shed light on corrupt practices within Ghana’s judicial system.
The Judicial Council and the Ghana Police Service have launched investigations into the matter and the indicted persons have been suspended.
Speaking on Citi FM on Saturday, Captain Koomson (rtd) warned that urgent steps must be taken to rectify the situation because “our moral fabric is in serious trouble.”
He expressed grave concern about the sinking morals of Ghanaian citizens and blamed the situation on the increasing respect for titles and positions rather than the values and character of individuals.
