In a letter to customers on their website, Sky warned its broadband customers to be prepared for letters and fines over illegal downloads, Metro UK reported.

A Sky spokesperson issued a statement to Metro.co.uk which said: ‘A company called Golden Eye International, which owns rights to several copyrighted films, has successfully applied for a court order against Sky.

'This means that we were required, by law, to fine and deal with customers who watch and download porn with our network'

Because of the court order, Sky would hand-over customer information corresponding to the anonymous IP addresses caught downloading illegal porn.
