Nana Addo can't stay in power for 8 years - NDC
Fred Agbenyo said the NDC is strengthened to contest elections 2020 and secure victory.
He said Nana Addo will not stay in power for eight years. He added that the NDC is strengthened to contest election 2020 and secure victory.
His comments come at the back of the spokesperson for former President John Mahama, Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari, claiming that she won’t be bothered should the NPP stay in power for eight years.
According to Bawa, Nana Addo will rule from 2016 to 2024 and therefore shows the beauty of democracy.
"Well I don’t really mind if NPP rules for eight (8) years, it’s democracy and really not an issue. When they lost, you can imagine how they felt when we moved into Flagstaff House and I know the feeling… We’ve all been there and that is the beauty of our democracy," she said on Accra-based Starr FM.
Her statement has caused a stir among some party faithfuls.
Fred Agbenyo reacting to her comments on Asempa FM said the NDC will be back to power in 2021. "I’m sure in 2021 NDC will form the next government".
"As far as the party leadership is concerned we are well prepared and that, by God’s grace 2020 we’ll come back to power and that is what we are focused on. I cannot even tell whether what the Spokesperson of the former president said was the position of former President Mahama or her own views that she expressed," he added.
