According to the Electoral Commission, a total of 277,663 voters, from 307,108 eligible voters, turned out for Thursday's referendum in the area.

Ahafo votes 99.67 percent for new region
Residents of Ahafo in the Brong Ahafo Region have voted massively for the creation of a new region in the enclave.

In all, a total of 276,763 representing 99.67 per cent of the total votes cast, voted YES, while 675 representing 0.24 per cent voted NO.
A total of 225 representing 0.08 per cent votes were rejected.
