The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper West Region has suspended the Wa West Constituency Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abudi Seidu, for supporting the suspended national chairman, Paul Afoko.
According to the letter, Mr Seidu’s continued stay in office as constituency chairman hangs on the outcome of the disciplinary process.

A letter signed by the Regional Secretary, Mr Hafiz bin Salih, took immediate effect from Wednesday, November 12, 2015.
It said the decision followed a complaint by one Adams Mahamood Mumuni, a member of the party, that Mr Seidu had organised some members of the party to protest against the suspension Paul Afoko.
“It is alleged that you mobilised, as well as led, some people from the region to demonstrate against the decision of both the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Council regarding the suspension of Mr Paul Afoko from his position as national chairman of the NPP,” the letter said.
The suspension, according to the regional executive, and the matter has been referred to the regional disciplinary committee “for the appropriate action.”
The leadership of the NPP had suspended four constituency chairmen in the Ashanti Region indefinitely.
The four were suspended for mobilising some members of the party to protest in Accra against the beleaguered chairman.

They are the Fomena Constituency chairman, Akwasi Nti Asamoah, Ejisu Constituency chairman, Okai Kwanim, the Asawaase Constituency chairman, Isaac Brenya, and Ahafo Ano South East constituency chairman, Joseph Dapaah.
The Ashanti Regional secretary of the party, Sam Pyne explained the decision saying, “The issue was that they flouted Article 3(b)(iv) of the party’s constitution, where they did not uphold the decision of NEC that Afoko has been suspended, and that they organized to go on a demonstration against the decision of the party.”
