Parliament to hold forum on the change of election date

Parliament seeks to engage the public to solicit their views on the bill, which is currently before the House. The forum will be held at Committee Rooms 1&2 of the new Parliamentary Office Complex

An amendment bill proposed to change the date of presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana from December 7 to the first Monday in November, was read to the parliament on June 26, 2016. This was after the bill was presented to the House by the Attorney General.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of Parliament Kate Addo, she explained that the forum is to ensure that members of the general public to make their views heard on the bill which is currently before parliament. “Parliament seeks to engage the public to solicit their views on the bill, which is currently before the House. The forum will be held at Committee Rooms 1&2 of the new Parliamentary Office Complex” the statement said.
