The teacher group explain that the Mahama-led administration has not made any policy decision favourable to teachers since he took office hence their decision.

They mentioned issues such as the scrapping of teacher trainees’ allowance, government’s decision to pay recruits only three month salaries, the delay in payment of promotion arrears amongst others.

"How can I work for over a year only for you to pay me three months’ salary,” the Upper West regional Chairman of the CCT Alhassan Abdallah Salifu quizzed.

Speaking to Accra-based Starr FMAlhassan Abdallah Salifu said they are only seeking the welfare of their members.

"We are not doing this with a partisan mind-set but based on our convictions as teachers who have not been treated right".

"It will surprise you to note that the leadership of the CCT in the Upper West region has some serious members of the NDC among us. We are interested in ensuring that our members are treated right," he told Lansah.

He said they will do all within their power to ensure that all their about 20,000 members vote against the NDC.
