According to him, the party has become full of sycophants who have surrounded themselves around the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo in order to "be recognised and hopefully get something in future."
Speaking on Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana, Mr. Crabbe said "There are groups of people out there who are trying everything possible to catch the eye of Nana Addo. They have surrounded Nana Addo."
He believes he is being sidelined because he has refused to be a part of the gang of sycophants.
Crabbe who had earlier challenged the authority of the Disciplinary Committee to invite him for questioning over an offence he claims he is not aware of, said the party's constitution is being overturned.
"There is a coup. Our constitution is being overthrown. And people are just not getting to the bottom of this and thinking that as they hear people shout loudest, so it means they are right. This is very dangerous for our democracy," Sammy Crabbe added.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party on Thursday affirmed the decision of the party's Disciplinary Committee to suspend its Second National Vice-Chairman, Mr Sammy Crabbe.
His suspension follows a petition by some aggrieved party members who accused him of undermining the party’s authority by publicly rebelling against its decision to indefinitely suspend Mr Paul Afoko.
