Ghana vs Mexico in numbers

Ghana are yet to beat Mexico at the senior team level, having lost both encounters against the Central American giants.

The previous two ties between them have produced two wins for Mexico and the games have registered a total of four goals. Mexico have scored three while Ghana have scored one

This is the second time Ghana will be playing against Mexico in the United States of America. The first encounter between these side happened in the USA on 1st March, 2006 on Frisco, Texas.

Mexico defeated Ghana 1-0 in an exhibition game and the only goal was scored by Guillermo Franco goal in the 75th minute.

Ghana set a date with Mexico on 26th March, 2008 in Craven Cottage London in their quest to earn a revenge, but it turned out to be a repeat of the 2006 friendly encounter. Mexico .

In that game Mexico came from behind with a storming second-half performance, capped by an 88th-minute Pavel Pardo penalty, to beat Ghana, 2-1. Michael Essien's lead for the Black Stars was cut short by Carlos Salcido's equaliser, before Pavel Pardo'sHar 88th minute goal from the spot kick completed a sweet comeback for Mexico.

Harrison Afful and Andre Ayew are the only remaining members of the current Black Stars team that played against Mexico in 2008
