The 26th edition of the GUSA Games officially kickstarted on Sunday, January 5, 2020.
The various universities participated in three disciplines, namely; football, tennis and basketball.

Debutants GIJ lost their first basketball game to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) by 80-17.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) also won 77-12 against University of Health and Allied Science (UHAS).
Meanwhile, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) also recorded a 42-28 win over the University of Energy and National Resource (UENR).
