All three Ghanaian sprinters into 100m semi finals Asaba 2018

Ghanaian Sprinters Janet Amponsah and Hor Halutie have both made it into Thursday’s semi finals of the women’s 100m event.

The Ghanaian contingent has so far made giant strides in athletics championship, which is being held in Asaba, Nigeria.

Amponsah qualified from heat 1 after finishing in second place with a time of 11.63. That heat was won by Ivorian Marie Josee Ta Lou, who made a time of 11.25sec.

Halutie also made it to the semi finals after clocking 11.77sec, which saw her finish third in her heat.

Meanwhile, the only Ghanaian male sprinter at the championship, Emmanuel Yeboah, clocked a time of 10.50sec in heat 5.

His time was good enough to earn the 21-year-old a third-place finish in his heat.

“This was not my best race. The false start was playing in my mind. Everybody was too careful not get off too early. But hopefully in the semi finals I will make amends,” Yeboah is quoted as saying by Citinewsroom.com.

The semi final event of both the male and female 100m events will come off on Thursday.
