However, his wife has kicked against a rematch of any form, insisting the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and other boxing stakeholders are working against her husband.

According to her, Bukom Banku received several low blows from Bastie Samir but the referee intentionally overlooked it.

“Even in last Saturday’s fight, it was clear that the GBA was working against Bokum Banku’s victory,” she said in an interview with Kasapa FM.

“I was at my husband’s corner at the ringside and I saw all that happened. Bastie gave Bukom Banku a low blow several times during the bout but even though he reported it, both the referee and the other officials didn’t say anything. I’ll not allow him to go for any rematch.”

Bukom Banku himself has confirmed that he wants a rematch, but requested that it happens in arch next year.
