He opined that, there are more capable coaches in Ghana who the Ghana Football Association didn’t give the chance and opportunity to.
“Kwesi Appiah has been the luckiest coach in the country,” he told Asempa FM.
“The likes of Bashir Hayford, CK Akunnor, Ibrahim Tanko, Maxwell Konadu, David Duncan and Sellas Tetteh are all better than Kwesi Appiah but the problem is that they did not get the backing of the government and the FA,” he noted.
Songo further that Kwasi Appiah is inconsistent and failed big time as Black Stars gaffer.
He also pleaded with the appointing authority to appoint a coach who is capable of winning Ghana trophies because that is what Ghanaians want.
The GFA on January 2, 2019 announced that it has dissolved all the technical teams of the various teams. The move implied that Kwasi Appiah and other coaches of the national teams have all been fired.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians are divided on whether Ghana should go for a local or foreign coach.
In the interim, former Asante Kotoko coach, C.K Akonnor has been appointed coach of the senior national team.
