AFCON 2021 Qualifier: Black Stars beat Bafana Bafana 2-0

The Black Stars of Ghana began their 2021 African Cup of Nations campaign by defeating Bafana Bafana of South Africa by 2-0 in Cape Coast on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

The Black Stars of Ghana were eager to impress, thus starting the game on a high tempo.

The first goal came in the first half, when midfielder, Thomas Partey struck a long range shot to beat the South African goalkeeper in the 35th minute.

Atletico Madrid’s star player's powerful shot was outside the box. Ghana ended the firs stance of the game on the high.

Ghana continued from where they left off in the first half with a dominant display from the young Ghanaian team.

Former Black Satellites midfield gem Mohan Kudus of Denmark side FC Nordsjaelland replaced the struggling Alfred Duncan 62nd minutes for his debut.

The 29-year-old dynamic midfielder scored Ghana’s second goal on the night with a thunderbolts strike inside the goal area with his weaker foot.

Another debutant Baba Iddrisu who plies his trade in the Spanish La Liga with Real Mallorca got injured in the 90th minutes and was replaced by Joseph Attamah Larweh after Emmanuel Boateng was subbed off four minutes from time with Samuel Owusu.

The Black Star of Ghana will take on Sao Tome & Principe in three days time away from Ghana.
