Asamoah Gyan given UN Ambassadorial role

Former Back Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has been handed a United Nations ambassadorial role.

He will work as a goodwill ambassador at the United Nations Youth Association in Ghana..

Gyan has been sworn in at the Ministry of Foreign Affair, Accra this afternoon.

The 34-year-old striker has had a successful football career for both club and country. He played in three FIFA World Cups and seven Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Sunderland striker is Ghana's all-time top scorer with 51 goals.

Asamoah Gyan now plies his trade in India with NorthEast United.

Off the field Gyan is a top-notch businessman with several companies in Ghana namely Mama Vits Noodles, Baby Jet Promotion, Jetlink Events and Logistics, Paradise Park Mineral Water, Baby Jet airline, just to mention a few.

Asamoah Gyan is said to be worth $20million and should be expected to be a worthy ambassador for the Youth Association of UN in Ghana.
