Kwesi Appiah to rotate Black Stars captain’s armband

The head coach of the Senior National Male Football Team of Ghana believes rotating the Black Stars captain’s armband will let him get the best out of his players.

Asamoah Gyan is the skipper of the Black Stars and he is deputized by Andre Ayew, but it is perceived there is captaincy row between the duo and that has divided the players into two.

To avoid such an occurrence Appiah has suggested it is a high time the armband kept rotating among his playing body since it boost the morale of any player who is handed the responsibility to wear it on any given game.

“Maybe along the line i may have to do that because sometimes if you want a player to play well for you, you just make him captain, give him responsibility and he will go and make sure he wins,” he said on Metro TV.

“Sometimes giving it to one person always at the end of the day it doesn’t take your leadership role away from you.”

“It is about time we start to do that because it brings a lot of division and controversy in your team. Going forward we have to make sure to change the direction of the captaincy.
